13 year old boy jailed for sodomy
A 13 year old boy has been sentenced to five years imprisonment for raping younger boys living in the same community with him in Jos, Nigeria.
Aliyu Musa who lives in Angwan Keke area of Jos was introduced to homosexuality at a tender age by men who gave him food and drugs in exchange for having carnal knowledge of him.
He began doing the same to younger boys in the area and was arrested when he cornered a ten year old boy who was on his way to the mosque and raped him.
According to the parents of the victim, Aliyu had raped their son twice and they got to know about it when their son was losing weight and was not eating properly.
Upon interrogation and examination it was discovered that he was being raped by Aliyu. The little boy disclosed that the first time it happened, he was on his way to Dutse Angwa Mosque when Aliyu drew him to a corner, removed his trousers and raped him.
This prompted the victim’s father, Abubakar Isah Adam to report the matter at Nasarawa Gwom Police Station and Aliyu was arrested.
During investigation, he confessed to the crime and disclosed that he was introduced to the act by one man named Bigi in their area and after having carnal knowledge of him he gives him food.
When he appeared at the Upper Area Court Kasuwa Nama, he confessed to the crime and admitted that he had done it to other boys in their area.
The Sole Judge, Hon. Lawal Suleiman said his hands are tight because of the age of the boy but he needs to take action to keep him away from other children and serve as a deterrent to others.
He therefore sentenced him to five years imprisonment with no option of fine.
Due to his to his age Aliyu Musa would spend his jail term at the Children Home where he is expected to be reformed.
