Jealousy: Police man shot dead six persons, took his life
A police constable who was suspecting his wife to be having an affair with motor cycle rider has shot dead his wife and five cycle riders before taking his own life.
Benson Imbatu who was earlier placed under investigation over the fatal shooting of a man eight months ago has been under stress over family matter and was constantly quarreling with his lover Carol; his friends and family said.
According to a Kenyan newspaper, he had moved with Carol to the house where he killed her early this month and opened a bar near his office which his lover Carol was running.
It was revealed that Imbatu had been suspecting Carol with infidelity and would at times isolate himself and even smoke “bad things” to forget it.
On the fateful day, armed with AK47 he excused himself from duty and drove to his house where he met Carol who had closed business for the day and shot her before starting a fire.
He then got into his car and drove out; shooting anyone he met; most especially motorcycle riders in the area who knew him and his car.
He later shot himself in his car as police approached the scene.
His colleagues at the police station said he was a short-tempered man and they always feared him
